Karl Strauss Brunch at the Toronado
Since 1989, Karl Strauss has been producing craft beer in San Diego, so they can lay claim to the title of San Diego's first craft brewery. In the last few years they have expanded their repertoire and are making some truly great beers. This Sunday, July 7th starting at 10:30 am, we're going to be showcasing some of their fine beers with a six-course brunch menu. Come on out and get to know Karl a little better; you'll be glad you did. The menu:
First-Blue cheese biscuit w/ a walnut and date Chutney, watercress and heirloom tomatoes and a green apple dice; paired with Maple Brown Ale
Second- Toasted barley "oatmeal"; paired with Red Trolley Ale
Third- A fried avocado and yellowtail tostada; paired with Citra dry-hopped Tower 10 IPA on cask
Fourth- Mango-glazed pork belly, Papas Bravas; paired with White Cloud IPA
Fifth- Blackberry-braised beef cheek, white cheddar risotto; paired with Imperial Pomegranate Berliner Weisse
Sixth- Bittersweet chocolate flourless cake w/ a bourbon mousse; paired with Makers Mark barrel-aged Wreck Alley Stout
