Learning Objectives:
1.Assess proper Installations of both Masonry and Metal Fireplaces in both new and remodeled applications. 2.Identify Building codes that are relevant to the safe installation of Masonry and Metal Fireboxes in California. 3.Establish the Differences between a safe Gas Burning Fireplace Installation and a safe Wood Burning Fireplace Installation. 4.Discuss future installation requirements of Masonry and Metal Fireplaces in California.

Bill worked for Fireplace Manufacturers, Inc., of Santa Ana, California, from 1979 to 1999. Starting in sales and moving to President / CEO in 1983, Bill helped grow FMI into a $30 million manufacturing company until it's sale in 1998, for $27 million.
The company completed its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 1984 allowing it to grow and succeed as a supplier of wood and gas burning fireplaces to the home building industry throughout North America, Europe, Middle East and Japan. He helped implement Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing philosophy into FMI and promoted JIT through various seminars and industry meetings.
Bill started a new manufacturing company, Masonry Fireplace Industries, LLC, in May 2005, manufacturing modular concrete fireplaces, marketed as "Mason-lite" for the custom and higher end home builders throughout the country.
Bill is a graduate of Whittier College with a BA in Business Administration.
Bill has served as a board member with many non-profit groups, such as Orange County ARC, Boys and Girls Club of Santa Ana, Vanguard University Foundation, Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce and Whittier College's Poet Council.
Bill Lives in Ladera Ranch, CA with his wife Sheila and when he has some time off loves to visit his children and grandchildren with a little golf on occasion.
