PRESENTERS:

Lisa Perrine, Ed.D., C-7 Contractor

Lisa has worked in the audiovisual industry since 1982, and has completed more than 1,000 projects. For the past 20 years Lisa has been active in patient advocacy. She weaves her sensitivity to people with disadvantages into her designs of collaboration environments and communication systems. Lisa recognizes the design community's lack of understanding of hearing impairments and the mandate for assistive listening systems  particularly as modified by the 2010 updates to ADA regulations. She feels the best way to promote the ADA mandates is to proactively educate architects and designers. Lisa's goal for this seminar is for more public spaces to be appropriately designed and equipped to provide accessibility for those who are hearing impaired.

JoAn Kenmotsu, Architect, CTS-D, LEED AP

JoAn has been exposed to ADA requirements for the past 20 years, and she has become more aware of the importance of ADA-compliant assistive listening systems since her licensure in California four years ago. With her knowledge of audiovisual systems and the courses she took during the CTS-D certification process, JoAn has been pursuing greater understanding of the communication aspects of ADA regulations. Her desire is to provide equal access for those who are affected by hearing impairments by raising awareness in the architectural community.
