Those Birds and Bees Just Ain't Gonna Fly! Sex Talks for the 21st Century (Good Vibrations Polk)
Children raised in the 21st century face a unique world of options and public opinions when it comes to reproduction, sexuality, and gender. Media conversations about diversity in sexual orientation and gender identity are becoming increasingly common. The age when children begin to access and regularly use the Internet (especially YouTube) gets younger and younger.
Join Cory Silverberg, sex educator, About.com Sexuality Guide, and author of a series of three inclusive books for children about sexuality (the first, What Makes a Baby), and Airial Clark, "The Sex-Positive Parent," to talk about what information is and isn't out there about sex and sexuality -- and how to talk about these topics with your child.
How do we follow a child's lead and promote happiness, safety, and health, offering the good information they need when they need it? And we'll talk about how to share information with your child that isn't just specific to them and your family, but prepares them for the diversity and questions they will encounter as they move through the world of family, friends, their own explorations, and beyond.
