Monty Python's SPAMALOT! presented by the Rock River Repertory Theatre
Rock River Repertory Theatre Company is thrilled to join the Edgerton community with its inaugural production, MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT. Rock River Repertory Theatre Company will present SPAMALOT, lovingly ripped off from the cinematic cult classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail, August 9th through August 18th at the Edgerton Performing Arts Center. SPAMALOT-- winner of three 2005 Tony Awards including best musical -- follows the exploits of King Arthur and his knights as they encounter killer rabbits, flatulent Frenchmen and a legless knight. Like all good Monty Python comedy, it combines the anarchy of the Marx Brothers with a British spirit of absurdity and a straight-faced irreverence toward all that is sacred.
Rock River Repertory Theatre Company is led by the artistic talents of Jim Tropp, well known throughout Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois for his consistent presentation of high-quality musical theatre. Mr. Tropp has directed over 80 musicals in his 20-year career. Some of his favorites include: RENT, WEST SIDE STORY, JEKYLL AND HYDE, MISS SAIGON, CABARET, INTO THE WOODS, and NEXT TO NORMAL. Over the past three years, Mr. Tropp has been awarded six Tommy Awards from the Overture Center of the Performing Arts for his outstanding direction and production of area high school musicals.
The production, directed by Jim Tropp, Choreographed by Michael Stanek, and Music Directed by Gary Hoff will be presented August 9-18. Performances will be held at the Edgerton Performing Arts Center, 200 Elm High Drive, Edgerton, Wisconsin, 53534.
