Portland Flamenco Events Student Show
Celebrate flamenco with beginning to advanced students of Portland Flamenco Events as they present flamenco dances they have been learning in class!
Portland Flamenco Events provides a broad and accessible flamenco experience of instruction, performance and community through classes and events with local and international artists in Portland, OR, retreats in the Western US, and guided trips to Spain to get to know flamenco in its birthplace. Founder Laura Onizuka is driven by the challenge and beauty of flamenco. She believes anyone who is moved by this art form has the capability to access it.
Our Portland classes put an emphasis on technique and connecting the dance to Spanish flamenco culture through a positive community based learning environment. We believe that both exposing students to correct technique and paying respect to where flamenco comes from are essential in allowing students to grow into strong flamenco dancers. We believe that learning should be fun and is an interactive process.
