LAURA HEDLI
---------------------------------------------
"too old to be this young"

He scrambles eggs. Laura prepares coffee. They take their places at the table, morning domesticity on the Upper East Side. Except that it's Saturday and their boss makes three---this is her apartment. They are there on her time. Laura's helping her write her book; he's helping her get in shape. Their boss has no idea he is seeing Laura on the side: When are you getting a girlfriend? she asks him. Laura's leg touches his under the table. How much longer can she keep it together?

COLE MCLEAN
---------------------------------------------
"Isn't that the whitest thing?"

Late one Friday evening, a classmate of mine said that seeing my fro and walking style from behind made me look Black. It wasn't the tone of surprise and wonder that caught my ear, but the fear...the fear of what looked like a Black person walking down the streets of San Diego's Coronado Island.

SARAH ELOVICH
---------------------------------------------
"Noah's Archaeology"

Sarah always used to wonder why God doesn't seem to talk to anyone anymore. Where's the booming voice from the clouds with crystal clear instructions all spelled out in cubits? Then, after floating for a long time all alone on her couch-boat, Sarah gets a message she can't ignore, and with it, the idea to set sail in a new direction.

NATACHA RUCK
---------------------------------------------
"Interpret This!"

On April 19 2012, Natacha Ruck, interpreter extraordinaire, prepares to take the stage at the San Francisco International Film Festival with a world-renowned French director. It is opening night and the Castro Theater is packed, Natacha's job is to translate for the Q and A, to say what this legendary French artist says, how he says it. To be his voice. But, as she switches on her microphone, she can't help but wonder: is it still sexual harassment if you do it on behalf of someone else?
