Gender Pay Equity Forum
The Womens Center and the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Seattle branch are hosting a gender pay (in)equity forum to highlight the issue (causes and consequences of the gender pay gap) and solutions (workers rights, legislative actions, and student engagement opportunities). Confirmed guest speakers include Marilyn Watkins, Policy Director and Gabriela Quintana, Advocacy Director at the Equal Opportunity Institute (EOI), who have both been instrumental in advancing gender pay equity in Washington, including the recent Paid Family and Medical Leave Act and Washingtons Equal Pay and Opportunity Act.
UW undergraduate and graduate students will walk away knowledgeable about the gender pay gap and will be prepared to address this issue in the workforce.
