Percussion Duo
Friday, Apr 26 at 7 PM Percussionists Duo Elizabeth Hall and Divesh Karamchandani explore world music traditions in original compositions for percussion.

You'll sit amidst the batterie watch out for flying mallets! For starters there's a vibraphone, woodblocks, gongs, shakers, bells, drums plus a kickbass! There are exotic percussion instruments caxixis, maracas and crotales! Then there are indispensable percussion instruments like flowerpots and tin plates, soup and soda cans and plastic cups. Not to forget stacks of paper and even temple bowls filled with bottle caps!
Composers include Elliot Cole, Leonardo Gorosito, Rafael Alberto.
Both Divesh Karamchandani and Elizabeth Hall earned Masters degrees in percussion at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Mr. Karamchandanis Bay Area affiliations include One Found Sound, the Modesto Opera, Sacramento Philharmonic, and the newly formed SF-LA Collective among others. Ms. Halls local affiliations include San Francisco Opera, Santa Cruz Symphony, SF Contemporary Music Players. The two percussionists met one another at the 2011 Zeltsman Marimba Festival held that year at Wisconsons Lawrence Conservatory.
