Dead Set On The Bay will be the first of its kind Grateful Dead themed live music sunset cruise on the San Francisco Bay. We set sail on Sunday, August 18th at 4:30 pm (following an optional 4:20 safety meeting on the docks) on the Hornblower Empress from the Berkeley Marina Doubletree Hotel.
The Empress is a beautiful and elegant triple-deck ship that can accommodate 300 passengers in high style. She resembles a turn of the century riverboat, with gleaming brass chandeliers, wall sconces, rich mahogany bars, two climate controlled decks and an expansive open air sundeck.
The first deck will feature live Dead by some of the best musicians in the Bay Area, including Stu Allen, Reed Mathis, Ezra Lipp, Scott Guberman, and more TBA. Waiters will circulate with platters of free Hors D'Oeuvres, and there will be cash bars, including a Bloody Mary station with shrimp and bacon.
The second deck will feature a liquid lights show, food and beverages for sale, and a second PA system with live music from the show downstairs.
On the third deck, enjoy open air views of the San Francisco Bay as we sail under the Golden Gate and around Alcatraz.
This is a 21+ event, IDs will be checked. Boarding begins at 4:30 and we will set sail at 5:30, returning at 8:30.

ID (21+) required to board, and we need the names of your guests ahead of time to create the passenger list.
You must be in line to board the boat by 5:15 pm or your spot may be given to a standby passenger. As in life, there are no refunds if you are late and miss the boat.
Hornblower will ask you to open your bags for inspection before boarding so that they can see you are not bringing alcohol or weapons aboard. Absolutely no outside alcoholic beverages or weapons permitted aboard.

The San Francisco Bay is federal waters, so please follow federal laws, act right and be discrete while cruising.
