Deb Callahan Band
Philly's blues-soul singer Deb Callahan recently celebrated 20 years of performing, touring, recording and entertaining music fans both regionally and around the United States. She returns to The Living Room, this time with her full band Allen James on guitar, Garry Lee on bass and Tom Walling on drums.
Callahan has appeared locally at WXPN's XPoNential Music Festival in Camden, NJ and other festivals including the Monterey Bay Blues Festival in Monterey, CA, Springing the Blues Fest in Jacksonville, FL, and Bayfront Blues Fest in Duluth, MN, as well as other venues throughout the US.
Callahan's most recent album "Sweet Soul" (2015), her fifth recording since 2002, explores the themes of love and family with a real view into both its joys and challenges including balancing family and career. The album was recorded and produced Tony Braunagel (Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray) in Los Angeles, CA. It received national and international airplay on blues and Triple A radio stations and good press and reviews. It's included in the Blues Music Report's Top 50 Contemporary Blues Albums for 2016 and was nominated for Blues 411's Jimi Award for Best Soul R&B Album. It also made reviewer Mark Gallo's Top 10 list for 2015. "Deb Callahan is a shouter, a crooner, a soul-belter and above all a gifted lyrical interpreter. She could sing the phone book and make it sound good." - Living Blues Magazine
