MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING

Join us as we present King's College Theatre's Shakespeare #69 in 1969!!!
A perpetual Shakespearean favorite; rich, uplifting and oh-so-funny, William Shakespeares Much Ado About Nothing follows the exploits of Don Pedro and his company as they return from war to celebrate at the house of Leonato. The house is a happy one, complete with beautiful daughter Hero and clever niece Beatrice, as well as Beatrices aging father Antonio. But when Leonatos friends arrive, the household is turned on its ear by the instant attraction between Hero and Claudio, and the constant bickering between Beatrice and Benedick. There is no comedic couple quite as beguiling as Beatrice and Benedick. Wielding words as both weapon and armor (but always with a charming, effervescent glint), their banter is code for so many things - part longing, part loathing, part love. Their chemistry is a barely restrained force of nature. It may just break its bindings.

But theres a snake in the midst of all this affection, and Don John plots to destroy everyones happiness before some of our couples are even aware that they are indeed a couple. Plot twists, disguises, a bumbling constable, and some of the wittiest dialogue in the canon all serve to make Much Ado About Nothing one of Shakespeares most enduring comedies, a timeless tale of love, revenge, and hijinks.
