Three for a Song Present "The Greatest Songs You've Never Heard"
Recently featured on NPR's All Things Considered, THREE FOR A SONG return to the Cauldron with more of "The Greatest Songs You've Never Heard" and some you have!
After performances in New York, LA, and on NPR's All Things Considered, Three For A Song, pianist and pop-song archivist, Alex Hassan, tenor, Douglas Bowles, and soprano, Karin Paludan return to the Creative Cauldron with new and old favorites from the Golden Age of American Popular Song. The trio have polished them to a sleek and stylish '30s sheen, and are ready to give these tunes the second chance they never got and so richly deserve. You'll also hear "Me and My Shadow" (Dave Dreyer), "Button Up Your Overcoat" (Ray Henderson), and "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square"(Manning Sherwin), among other hits from the Era, in addition to new favorites by these and other "Greatest Songs" composers. The show also features choreography by New York choreographer, Stephen Brotebeck, and wonderful slide images of sheet music art and the songs' composers.
Michael Feinstein declared this program "one of the freshest and most stimulating shows for lovers of vintage popular music, performed by an outstandingly talented trio". Once you've heard these infectious tunes and hilarious, heartwarming, and surprising anecdotes about their creation, you just might leave humming a whole new batch of favorite songs you've never heard. Please join Three For A Song at the Creative Cauldron on Friday, July 19th at 7:30PM for a night of music and laughter you won't soon forget. "The Greatest Songs" may become your favorite songs!
