The Buck and Bill Show
Welcome to The Buck and Bill Show brought to you by our sponsor, You! You are invited to the first public staged reading with live original music and songs of The Buck and Bill Show by Bob Ernst. Bob's unique style of theater is charged with familial mysteries, a murder, spirit possessions and a swirling vortex of existential hijinks. The broad range of original music is braided into an episodic dramatic play about a small rural community and a local band on their way to fame and fortune. Composer, Mark Malmberg, and a badass band keep it real and soulful. The performers are Ron Davis, Bob Ernst, Rosie Fry, Brittany Gilmore, Vivian Marino and Jeff Zittrain.
Footloose is about to launch ABOVE GROUND, a festival of new theater in San Francisco's Mission district at Mojo Theatre. Ten premiere works, including The Buck and Bill Show, will be featured over four weekends June 6-29, 2019 . We're putting masters of their playwriting craft together with talented, emerging artists, to highlight "Who we are now."
Bob Ernst received a Theatre Bay Area CA$H grant of $2,500 to bring his play to You in April. Our goal is to raise $2,500 more for the actors and musicians for the June premiere as part of the ABOVE GROUND festival. Be part of the process. Your presence and feedback are encouraged. Your donation is important. If you cannot attend the reading in April and would like to help, please DONATE NOW .
All donations are tax deductible. Checks payable to Footloose can be mailed to: Spring Fall Studio #20, 2547 8th Street, Berkeley, CA 94710 Contribute online at PayPal -- You will be directed to Footloose Dance Co. Thank you for supporting the arts.
ABOUT the Producer: Footloose is a California nonprofit making and presenting original performance that is accessible, affordable and inclusive. We offer authentic and direct experiences at the grassroots level--meeting people where they live, work, and play--reinforcing community identity, and building connections to strengthen and build on artistic expression. "Artistic Director, Mary Alice Fry has her ear to the underground not just in dance, also in music, comedy, theater and storytelling. Much of what she presents is sharp, in-your-face and infectious. She has booked some of the funniest monologists I have ever heard on the same programs as dancers Rita Felciano, writer on dance
