THE FATHERS OF WORCESTER
Stephen B Martin & The Snake Will be performing and we'll hear from their new CD release " Liberator: A Redress of Grievances" along with material from their 2017 release "Virtually Indestructible" and decades of original song. Stephen & The Snake are the only performing members of Orpheus, and Stephen's success with his song "Congress Alley" is of folk-legend.
Norman Schell Folk legend since 1966, and founder of the Y-Not Coffee House, set the stage for an active Worcester music scene. Normans song Charles Street documented those times and this song is still performed by musicians a half century after he wrote it. In 1969 Norman was a founding member of the legendary band Clean Living, forerunners of the Pioneer Valley Music scene.
Stephen & Norman were what we call The Fathers of Worcester and Congress Alley along with fellow artists and musicians, they created a cultural disturbance mirroring the San Francisco summer of love vibe near the Crown Hill neighborhood. Stephen & Norman continue to write & perform decades later, and will bring back to Worcester, the joy their music makes, where it all began in the 1960s.
They are joined by fellow Father musical duo Johnny Casual John Solaperto, vocalist , was part of the Congress Alley scene and guest vocalist on Stephen & the Snakes album Virtually Indestructible and performing with the incredible Joe DAngelo, who is the Godfather of guitarists.
This is a very special gathering, not to be missed.
