THE LAVENDER MAFIA
A staged reading of Luke Yankee's new play, THE LAVENDER MAFIA, which focuses on the birth of the "gay mafia" in 1950's Hollywood. In 1958, closeted agent Nick Ralston has run out of luck. A former child star whose mother spent his money as fast as he made it, he'll do anything to get back in the game - whether that means bribery, extortion or pimping out his clients to the highest bidder.
Loosely based on some of the biggest stars in 1950's Tinseltown, THE LAVENDER MAFIA exposes the dark underbelly of the Hollywood dream factory and addresses the gay side of the #MeToo movement of a bygone era.
THE LAVENDER MAFIA was recently a finalist for the Sundance Lab as well as the Screencraft Play competition.
