Internationally acclaimed photographer Maya Goded makes a promising film debut with Plaza de la Soledad, a moving continuation of her photography work in La Merced neighborhood in Mexico City, where prostitution has been present since the days of the Aztecs. Beautiful, respectful, and celebratory (Film Comment) and winner of the Cinema Tropical Award for Best Latin American Documentary, the film follows four strong womenmiddle-aged and olderwho want to break a vicious circle that began with abuse and abandonment suffered from an early age. Carmen, Lety, Raquel, and Esther aspire for a better life, and Godeds poignant lens follows their quest to find true love, their capacity to transform themselves, and above all, their resilience and solidarity.

La internacionalmente aclamada fotógrafa Maya Goded realiza un prometedor debut cinematográfico con Plaza de la Soledad, una emotiva continuación de su trabajo fotográfico en el barrio de La Merced en la ciudad de México, donde la prostitución ha estado presente desde los tiempos de los aztecas. "Hermosa, respetuosa y festiva" (Film Comment) y ganadora del Premio Cinema Tropical como Mejor documental latinoamericano, la película sigue a cuatro mujeres fuertes, de edades medias y avanzadas, quienes quieren romper un círculo vicioso que comenzó con el abuso y el abandono que sufrieron desde temprana edad. Carmen, Lety, Raquel y Esther aspiran a una vida mejor, y la conmovedora lente de Goded las sigue en su búsqueda para encontrar el amor verdadero, su capacidad de transformarse y, sobre todo, su capacidad de resistencia y solidaridad.
