MINDFUCK: the art and ethics of psychological edge play

From mild to wild, Elise will share her knowledge from the perspective of both a psychologist and a professional provider of kink, fetish, and BDSM services.
It can be intimidating to incorporate this style of play into your kinky repertoire. You may ask yourself things like, "Will I harm them unintentionally?", "Will I trigger them in some way?", "What do I do if that happens?".
You needn't be a psychologist to incorporate aspects of ethical, informed, psychological edge play scenes. At its core, "Mindfuck" or psychological edge play is a form of structured, consensual, and negotiated psychological manipulation. When used as a component of your scene, it's an attempt to intentionally temporarily destabilize, confuse, or manipulate the mind of your play partner with the goal of releasing endorphins and adrenaline into their bloodstream - resulting in a psychological and physiological all-natural high.
In this exciting workshop, the following practical information will be covered:
- Basic principles of psychology
- Establishing trust
- Setting the scene
- Applying psychological theory
- Ethical practice/responsibility
DO NOT BE FOOLED! This is no Psychology 101 class although we will cover basic elements of psychological theory and background. Participants should be prepared to return to their play partner with mind-bending new ways to get inside their head.
Through group discussion, ongoing question and answer, and practical role plays and demonstrations, participants will learn new skills in a dynamic and engaging format.
Sample Scenarios that will be discussed:
- Kill Room (setup and execution)
- Kidnapping and Abductions (setup, execution, staging, public play vs. private play)
- Blackmail (setup, execution, basic->advanced)
- Methods of Torture (traditional and Elise Style)
PRESENTER BIOGRAPHY
Elise (she/her) has been active in the Bay Area kink/BDSM community since moving to California 4 years ago, when she decided to extend her 10 years of personal BDSM/kink practices to include professional opportunities. In addition to conducting independent sessions, she has been a pro-Switch at a well-known East Bay based dungeon for over 2 years. Elise frequently volunteers her time, effort, and energy to the kink and provider community, and values the connections and relationships she has been able to develop in this regard. Her areas of expertise and interest include: fear/psychological play, food/splosh play, orgasm control/denial, corporal punishment, high protocol service/submission training, medical play/fetishism, 1950s Household lifestyle play. In addition to individual/1:1 psychological play, Elise has also coordinated large scale events and multi-staged, public play experiences.
With her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education, and terminal degree in Psychology, Elise is an engaging, dynamic, and creative presenter. When she is not busy providing therapies of all sorts, Elise can be found eyeing interesting architecture and design, getting off the beaten path, and laughing until it hurts.
