Walk in U.S., Talk on Japan
Currently in its sixth year traveling the U.S., the "Walk in U.S., Talk on Japan" speaker program comes to The Huntington with five presenters, each with diverse backgrounds discussing important factors and positive developments in the Japan-U.S. relationship with the goal of broadening the friendship of both countries at a grassroots level.
NOTE: The program is sold out. There will not be a wait list. Anyone still interested in coming may come standby on the day of the program. We'll form a standby line outside Rothenberg Hall at 4 pm.
Speakers include:
- Tokuro Miyake from the Izumi School of Kyogen, on the Japanese sense of humor and beauty through Kyogen, a form of comedic Japanese theater; - Yuko Chujo, a banker sharing her experiences working at both Japanese and American companies; - Yoshiki Hatta, a phD student specializing in asteroseismology at the National Astronomical Observatory in Japan; - Aya Sakai, a student at the Department of Child Education at Japan Woman's University, studying how Japanese food education and the school lunch system contribute to children's health and longevity of the people of Japan.
Light refreshments follow the program.
