Harvest Fest is a community celebration of the farm at its most fruitful! Festivities for the whole family will include live music, farm market, hayrides and games from 9AM-3PM at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, located just 45 minutes north of Manhattan.
Highlights of Harvest Fest 2008: * Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, one of the most celebrated duos on the American acoustic music scene, playing an assortment of Appalachian melodies, Cajun and Celtic fiddle tunes, stirring Civil War classics and more! * Additional musical performances by Westchester's own Dan Lauter Quartet, playing a fine blend of original and traditional jazz music, and by Rich Bana, performing traditional folk songs of the Hudson Valley * Special performances of Visible Theatre's Clucky, the Brave Little Hen * Hayrides * Raptor Show presented by the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center * Farm demonstrations and interpretation * A chance to show off your farmer skills at our Farm Olympics * Farm Market featuring a variety of local farmers, producers and purveyors * An opportunity to strut your cooking talents in our seasonal pie bake-off
Food and beverages, including Stone Barns famous Berkshire pig roast and Chipotle tacos, will be available for cash purchase all day in the farm market area. Also enjoy cider, sandwiches, local cheeses, roasted corn, pastries and more seasonal favorites for visitors of all ages!
