Milwaukee Youth Theatre presents the play, Peter/Wendy on April 3, April 4 and April 5 at 7:00 pm at Lincoln Center of the Arts Middle School. The director is Greg Davis. Peter/Wendy is written by Jeremy Bloom based on J. M. Barrie's books Peter and Wendy and The Little White Bird. It is a stripped down, low tech version of Peter Pan. The play focuses on the characters of Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily, A Lost Boy, Captain Hook, Smee and Mr. and Mrs. Darling. Peter Pan coerces Wendy to fly away from home and partake in an adventure with Tiger Lily on the island of Neverland. They encounter Captain Hook and Smee who attempt to kill Tiger Lily. She is rescued by Peter Pan. Later, Captain Hook kidnaps Wendy and leaves poison in a medicine bottle meant for Peter Pan. Peter Pan's life is saved by Tinker Bell who drinks the poison and almost dies. The children in the audience must save Tinker Bell's life by shouting that they do believe in fairies. Captain Hooks plan in kidnapping Wendy is that he hopes to make her his mother, but that plan is thwarted by Peter Pan, Tiger Lily and Tinker Bell. Upon being rescued Wendy declaires she must go home and offers to take the Lost Boy with her. Now Wendy must make the decision to join her parents or continue the adventure with Peter Pan.
