The Blues Brothers
Were on a mission from God.
An outrageous holy crusade of a film from John Landis, The Blues Brothers finds Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as the titular duo, putting the old band back together to save the orphanage where they grew up. Its absolutely a corny premise, but Landis uses it as an excuse to stage all manner of mayhem, from dozens of wrecked police cars to a chase through a mall, and even Carrie Fisher with a rocket launcher. The musical numbers in the movie feature the best of classic soul and blues performers, including Aretha Franklin, James Brown, John Lee Hooker, Ray Charles, and Cab Calloway.
133 minutes, Rated R.
Tickets are available for a suggested price of $10 for TPR Members and $15 for non-members. Proceeds benefit Texas Public Radio.
