Bread Crumbs [MAP's Night Off with Jasmine Joshua]
The MAP Gang is taking the night off, and inviting Jasmine Joshua to guide us all on this trek through the forest. A little bit stand-up, a little bit a Moth story, and a little bit Great Theatre(tm), Jasmine covers everything from traversing transgender discovery to puking and peeing your pants in front of VIPs. We travel with Jasmine from the beginning as they desperately search for clues from their past to "prove" their trans-ness, to present day where the only proving they do is bread dough. (Just kidding, they don't bake.)
This is an active work-in-progress, and the evening will include a performance and a guided conversation with the audience, which Jasmine will absorb and feedback into each next performance. This iteration of the show expands upon the version originally developed at the Seattle workshop series The Scratch last summer with director Eddie DeHais.

MORE ABOUT ... JASMINE Jasmine Joshua is the Founding Artistic Director of the award-winning and Gregory-nominated Reboot Theatre Company, whose mission is to test new interpretations of established works through nontraditional casting, design, and methods yet to be discovered. As an actor, they have performed roles at Book-It, Intiman, STAGEright, Theater Schmeater, Seattle Musical Theatre, Bainbridge Performing Arts, and Annex. They studied with the Larry Moss Studio, the Groundlings, and Jet City Improv. They graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Creative Writing from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Prior to moving to Seattle, they were a publicist at an entertainment PR agency in the Bay Area where they handled PR for Broadway tours, LORT theatres, community theatres, ballet, opera, and a monster truck rally. Currently, Jasmine is writing a queer musical as a part of the The First Draft Program at The 5th Avenue Theatre, due for a professional workshop in New York this coming fall.
MORE ABOUT ... MAP's NIGHT OFF Once a mainstage show opens, MAP only needs the theatre on performance nights. What happens to the theatre on all those other nights? When the MAPs away the mice will play! In this case, the mice are trusted and fierce creative voices in our community who have an idea and simply need a space to work it out. MAP provides the space and some production assistance, and our partner provides the magic.
MORE ABOUT ... MAP THEATRE MAP Theatre is a nomadic, independent and not-for-profit producing company with deep roots in the Seattle community. We favor comedy that bites, and storytelling with a strong narrative. MAP actively champions a completely Name-Your-Own-Price ticketing model, with no service fees.
This production would not be possible without the generous support of the following: * Shunpike, our fiscal sponsors. * Each & every individual donor.
