ROLLER DYNASTY
A New Play by Ryan Drake
One night while working the graveyard shift at a roller disco in Marfa, TX, Donna and Colby are smacked with a surprise: The Apocalypse! How groovy! Now what?! Skating through a honky tonk disco fugue, the ladies are left to figure out who they are, what it all means, and if anything even matters at all. ROLLER DYNASTY celebrates friendship, disco music, and the end of the world.
FEATURING:
Sarah Grace White (Colby) is an actor, writer and singer in Los Angeles, CA. She holds a BA in Drama from Kenyon College, where she appeared in numerous productions at the Bolton Theater including THE SEAGULL (Masha), MOONCHILDREN (Ruth), and HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE (Lil Bit). She has trained at the Atlantic Acting School in NY, Goldsmiths University of London, and the Upright Citizens Brigade. TV credits include The Bastard Executioner (FX, Series Regular) and Sons of Anarchy (FX).
Hannah Zipperman (Donna) is an actor, writer, and improviser from Los Angeles. She graduated with a BA in Drama from Kenyon College where she appeared in Our Town (Emily) and All My Sons (Kate Keller). She has studied at iO Chicago, The Groundlings and the Upright Citizens Brigade.
CREATIVE:
Ryan Drake (Playwright) is a playwright and filmmaker in Brooklyn, NY. His plays include YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING (Eugene O'Neill NPC Semi-finalist, Less than Rent Theatre), TERRIBLE RAGE (The Tank), ROLLER DYNASTY (Medicine Show, 999 Festival), MOON KIDS (Crashbox Theatre Company, Mason Holdings) and GAMING AND CRYING AND DREAMING AND GAMING (Dixon Place, Actors Theatre Louisville Apprentice Workshop). His short plays have been featured at The Wild Project, 7x7 at The Tank, Serials@TheFlea, Kenyon College, YesNoise High Line Series, Calliope Theatre, and The Playwrights Collective. Upcoming: La Mama Experimental Theatre Club. He wrote the webseries "Sensitive" which can be streamed on Amazon Prime and SeekaTV. "Sensitive" was featured on Canada's OutTV on their network series "Best of the Web" and won the Audience Award at Brooklyn Webfest. He graduated from Kenyon College in 2014 where he won the James E Michael Playwriting Prize. Ryan recently wrapped the short film "Eden, The Clown" which he wrote, directed, produced, and assistant edited. He is also a script reader for Vineyard Theatre.
Emma Pasarow (Director) is a director and actor in Los Angeles. She holds a BA in theater from Wesleyan University in Connecticut, where she directed numerous productions including HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE and THE SELF. While at Wesleyan, she also assistant directed THE PILLOWMAN for Eddie Torres. She recently assistant directed FAMILIAR at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego. She has trained with SITI Company in NY, Steppenwolf West in Los Angeles, the Groundlings and is currently enrolled at BGB Studios.
Mariana Benjamin (Producer) is currently the Managing Program Director at the Creative Kids Youth Theatre Project, and is also a freelance producer, director, scenic/costume designer, and educator originally from Los Angeles, and has just moved back from a 6-year-stint in New York City. While in New York, she worked on numerous broadway productions, including the Off-Broadway and Broadway incarnations of Dear Evan Hansen. She produced several successful new shows in NYC, and has served as Production Manager for St. Luke's Theatre and the SheLA Arts Festival.
