Comedy on Elm Street with Mike Donovan, Stephen Bjork, Dennis Fogg and Don Zollo
Elm Draught House Cinema brings in another great lineup of comedians: Mike Donovan, Stephen Bjork, Dennis Fogg and Don Zollo on March 9 at 9:30 p.m.
The show is presented by Scamps Comedy (ScampsComedy.com) and tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door on show night.
Boston comedian Mike Donovan has long been one of the most creative and funniest headliners in the country. The South Boston native works the top clubs in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and has been featured on The NESN Comedy All-Stars, ESPN's SportsCenter, Fox's Best Damn Sports Show Period, and the Showtime network. He was featured in the documentary When Standup Stood Out. Hes also the author of 101 Stories of American History, available at Amazon.com and at the show. One of the funniest (and kind-hearted) observational humorists in Boston, Stephen Bjork is known for his clean and funny style that makes him a favorite in theaters, corporate shows, and fundraisers. At one time, he worked cross-country as a headliner, performing at clubs such as The Improv in Las Vegas, Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, Hilarities in Orlando, Florida, Crackers in Indianapolis, Indiana, and several more. He's shared the stage with acts including Dane Cook, Steven Wright, Dom Irrerra, Dave Chappelle, Gilbert Gottfried, Joe Rogan, Dana Gould and Tommy Chong. He also once opened for the legendary musical group The Platters.
National television viewers were introduced to Portland, Maine comedian Dennis Fogg when the restaurant he owns received a makeover and Fogg the requisite tongue-lashing from host Robert Irvine on the Food Networks Restaurant: Impossible. Thats fine with Fogg the exposure increased traffic to his place, and at least Irvine didnt criticize his comedy. At one point, they had a film crew at a show and I thought they might give me grief, but I was killing and Irvine told me I was doing too well to interrupt, Fogg explained.
Don Zollos comedy is found in both his delusional confidence and biting insecurity. He's performed all over the country and you may recognize him as pitchman for Dunkin Donuts or as costar of Superbowl champ Julian Edelman's viral video series DDTYME. His comedy is centered around his experiences as a "Boston guy" adapting to the world outside of New England as well as dating and some not-so-ordinary experiences like playing football with Tom Brady or hanging out with the gang members of South Central LA.
