Songs from the Heart: Gospel and Celtic traditions -- A Choral Workshop and Concert with Linda Morrison
Founding director of Montreal's eclectic and entertaining Yellow Door Choir, Linda Morrison is a choir director, arranger, composer and singer/songwriter. She has taught choral ensemble at the National Theatre School of Canada for over a decade. Her latest proud creation is Mouth Music, a 25-voice choir that explores her arrangements of Scottish, Irish and Welsh songs in English and their original Gaelic. Linda continues to perform concerts of her original songs, some of which have also been recorded by artists such as Penny Lang, Quartette and Karen Young. Her childrens' songs have been regularly featured on Sesame Street.
Linda will teach original songs and arrangements from her favourite genres. She writes: "We'll get into the swing of Irish and Scottish traditional singing in Gaelic as well as English and experience the excitement of some wonderfully uplifting Gospel songs."
