LOVE ALWAYS, MOM is a film that speaks to anyone and everyone with a dream and inspires us to never give up. Written, produced, and directed by Trish Gonnella Russo and Craig E. Shapiro. This film could not have been created without the generous support of many New Jersey & New York natives. Filmed over the course of 3 years and featuring the work of New Yorkers: Bob Geile (cinematographer), Shawn Regruto (additional cinematographer), and Jake Diamond (editor). Some scenes filmed in Brooklyn and NYC and the film was workshopped in this very theatre. After a film festival run, were excited to return to share the finished film!
In 2018 LOVE ALWAYS, MOM won the Audience Award at its World Premiere at Geena Davis' Bentonville Film Festival and Best Documentary at the Catalina Film Festival. It has also been an official selection of DTLA Film Festival in Los Angeles, the Silicon Valley International Film Festival in San Francisco, and will go to the Nevada Women's Film Festival in Las Vegas this March.
It tells the tale of a stage 4 cancer survivor and her husband's controversial decision to have a child using an egg donor and a surrogate. With laughter and tears, we witness a mothers love letter to her unborn child and a never before seen look into cancer and infertility.
The Brooklyn screening will benefit the 501(c)3 non-profit Trish created to fund the film and the 2019 screening tour, The Cyan Gray Hope Foundation. Proceeds beyond the film and screening tour will benefit cancer research and a grant to give support annually to a cancer survivor to build a family.
Before Brooklyn LOVE ALWAYS MOM will screen in Millburn, NJ and Philadelphia, PA. Find links to those tickets on FB & IG @lovealwaysmomthemovie. More cities to be announced!
