Provincetown Cares 2013 Play selection "5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche", by Evan Linder and Andrew Hobgood has been selected as the 2013 Provincetown Cares production directed by Lynn d'Angona and starring Kelly McAndrew,Maureen Keiller, Georgia Lyman, Hannah Yelland, Heather Matarazzo and Darlene VanAlystyne. Synopsis: Set in the thick of 1956 McCarthyism, the play opens at the local community center where five women preside over their members gathered for their annual quiche breakfast in honor of the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein. Innuendos, suppressed sexual feelings, shocking revelations and political humor abound as the women compete for best quiche, and cope with an unexpected agenda item: the dropping of an atom bomb on their fair city.
"5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche" will have its Provincetown debut on October 18 and 19, 2013 at Provincetown Town hall.

Provincetown Cares is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for women's health and breast cancer through live entertainment. Launched in 2008, it stages an original live benefit performance and silent auction each October in Provincetown, MA during Women's Week and National Breast Cancer Awareness Month to support research, education, screening and treatment for breast cancer and other critical health issues affecting women.
Now in its sixth year, the Provincetown Cares live performance and VIP event have become an integral part of Women's Week in Provincetown, MA. Award-winning TV and stage actors generously make charitable contributions of their time and talent to perform in two shows under the direction of Lynn d'Angona and participate in special events and auctions in support of Provincetown Cares.
Proceeds from the annual live performance, VIP event and silent auction benefit local, regional and national organizations committed to cancer research, education and treatment services for women in our communities, including Helping Our Women (H.O.W.),Outer Cape Health, Fenway Community Health, and Dr. Susan Love's Army of Women Foundation.
To date, Provincetown Cares has distributed $90,000.00 dollars to local and national charities and has become a recognized community leader in the fight for women's health.
