Story Event: True Legends of the California Gold
PMH is pleased to partner with the Pasadena Public Library to present this program in conjunction with the Librarys One City, One Story 2019 community reading celebration. This years selection is a Pulitzer Prize finalist titled "In the Distance" by Hernan Diaz. A portion of the book tells the story of a new immigrant experiencing life in the California Gold Rush.
Join us as storyteller Ed Landler (Mr. Ed) uses his many voices, multiple hats - and perhaps some surprises! to tell both factual and poetic accounts of the discovery of gold, the naming of Death Valley, and the exploits of legendary bandit Joaquin Murrieta. His stories will explore how the present can change the way we view the past.
