Music in the Chapel: SisterTree
You're invited to enjoy the radiant and earthy harmonies of SisterTree in the historic Lakewood Chapel on Sunday, March 10. SisterTree performs both new and old favorites grounded in Celtic and Americana traditions. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
Lakewood's Music in the Chapel series showcases a diverse variety of artists in one of our city's most beloved architectural treasures -- the Lakewood Memorial Chapel.
The Chapel is an intimate setting that seats about 160 people. Because of its incredible beauty, it is a popular place for weddings, end-of-life services, music concerts, tours and other celebrations of beauty, art and remembrance.
Doors open for this concert at 2:00 p.m. Arrive early and take a self-guided tour of the Chapel before the show (tour brochures available).
Dedicated in 1910, the Lakewood Chapel was modeled after the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul by prominent Minneapolis architect Harry Wild Jones. Its 10-million piece mosaic interior, created by New York designer Charles Lamb, features a 40-foot high dome ringed with stained glass windows and 12 mosaic angels. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Chapel is one of the finest examples of Byzantine mosaic architecture in the country. Questions?
