Big Steve Parish w/ Steal Your Peach
Steve Parish has been a primary member of The Grateful Dead family for 50 years. Steve first joined the band as a roadie in 1969. It wasnt long before he was Jerry Garcias trusted gear handler and began to manage The Jerry Garcia Band. Over the years Parish and Garcia forged an unbreakable bond. Steve was Jerrys best man at his wedding and was at his bedside when Garcia fell in to a coma in 1986. Parish was the last friend to see Jerry before his untimely death in 1995. Steve has continued to maintain his relationships with the rest of The Grateful Dead family. As Weir once said to him Blood is thicker than water but we have is thicker than blood.
The Big Steve Hour, which is normally hosted at Bobbys place, Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, Ca, is going out on the road. Come be a part of the conversation with Big Steve Parish while he shares stories of his life on the road with the most iconic band in history. The incredibly talented Katie Skene will be joining Steve for an unforgettable musical and storytelling experience.
The Steal Your Peach Band (SYPB) is a six piece group that explores and celebrates the music of both The Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers Band. By assembling the same line up of both legendary groups (2 guitarists, 2 drummers, bass and keyboards), SYPB effortlessly interweaves the grooves and jams of both iconic bands creating a unique musical experience.
The Steal Your Peach Band is an all star collective comprised of seasoned, like minded professional musicians. The SYPB lineup includes members of The Rev Tor Band, Arlo Guthrie & Xavier, The Last Waltz Live, Uncle Sammy and The Stone Revival Band. Members of SYPB have shared the stage with Willie Nelson, Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Little Feat The Jerry Garcia Band as well as members of The Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers Band, Phish and MOE.
SYPB is dedicated to presenting the music of The Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers Band with genuine respect to the original while not being afraid to interject a little bit of their own in to the mix. This is the free spirited approach the music demands and allows them the freedom to perform a unique and new set list at every show.
