NPSNJ Annual Meeting 2019
The Annual Meeting of the Native Plant Society of New Jersey for 2019 will be held at Medford Leas on Saturday, March 2rd. Our speakers this year will be: Dr. Desiree Narango - presenting Gardening for Wildlife, featuring information from her recent study from Proceedings of the National Academy of Science titled, "Nonnative plants reduce population growth of an insectivorous bird"
Dr Daniela Shebitz-presenting "Development of mycorrhizal functional groups and plant life forms in Atlantic white-cedar from early restoration areas to old swamps."
Chris Doyle from Solitude Lake Management, will be presenting Native Aquatic Plants.
We will also have a round table discussion titled "How Native is Native and where do Humans fit into the Environment". The round table discussion will feature some of our guest speakers as well as members from our Advisory board.
We will of course have our annual Sticks and Twigs plant sale. All proceeds from the plant sale directly benefit NPSNJ and supporting our mission.
We also are going to announce the NPSNJ plant of the year for 2019!
Our seating is very limited at Medford Leas, so don't wait to purchase your ticket.
Registration will begin at 8:30 am and the Annual Meeting will begin at 9:30.
The Buffet style Lunch will be served at 12:45. Medford Leas does an amazing job with lunch and that alone is worth the price of admission.
The schedule of speakers will be sent out via separate email and will be subject to change.
