Ikue Mori at the Howland . . .
Elysium Furnace Works and the Howland Cultural Center, Beacon's premier Arts and Entertainment venue, are pleased to present Ikue Mori. A pioneering electronic musician, Ikue Mori started out as a drummer for the seminal No Wave band DNA with fellow noise trailblazers Arto Lindsay and Tim Wright, creating a new brand of radical rhythms and dissonant sounds forever altering the face of rock music. She has been creating uncanny electronic music via laptop, drum machines and other devices in the subsequent decades. Ms. Mori's past collaborators include John Zorn, Marc Ribot, Evan Parker, Bill Laswell, Sylvie Courvoisier, Craig Taborn and Jim Black, among may others. Advance tickets: $20 at mori.brownpapertickets.com; at the door, $25. Please note: advance ticket sale ends on June 15th at 12:00 PM.
