MBAA Black Broadway Cabaret
The Memphis Black Arts Alliance goes for the Gold with yet another Fantastic Show! This time, MBAA present The Black Broadway Cabaret, featuring Memphiss Favorite African American Stars of the Stage, crooning to those Broadway Tunes that we all know and love, Friday, March 15 and Saturday March 16, 7pm at the Buckman Performing Arts Center, located at 60 Perkins Extended. MBAA Black Broadway Cabaret is the creation of LarJuanette Williams, MBAAs Executive Director, who wanted to design a show featuring Memphis BEST stage performers, singing their favorite Show Tunes! And of course, they could not stop there, having to include some of Memphis BEST Dancers, Musicians and Production Pros as well! We work hard all year taking professional artists into underserved communities to teach children at no cost, while also preserving the legacy of Memphis music history, and advancing the future of African American arts, literature and culture. Now, we just want to let our hair down and have some fun, so we invite the City of Memphis to come out and join us for a Mind-Blowing Show!
The MBAA Black Broadway Cabaret will feature Favorites such as Donald Thomas, John David Macon, Rainey Harris, Dawn Bradley, Quinton Rayford, Thedrick Griffin, Valetta Brinson . Tina Byrd, & Trevor Hannah, along with a host of others! Even LarJuanette Williams will take her administrative hat off and hit the stage! To top it all off, MBAA Black Broadway Cabaret will feature our cities most celebrated Stage Stars of Tomorrow, Kristian Wright, ShaKya Avant, and Jenae Wiggins! All of this set to remarkable music, directed by Valetta Brinson, choreography by the exceptional Steven Prince Tate, creative lighting, by Cincinnatis Evan Stone, flashy scenic design by Morristowns Christopher Frith, and Amazing Costumes by the brilliant ReKeitha Morris! MBAA spares nothing when putting on a show and the MBAA Black Broadway Cabaret will be Spectacular!!!
