Old is New
A word to the wise music lover: Run, dont walk, to this series Frank Daykin from The New York Concert Review
Wa Concert Series continues with its first musical offering of this new year Old is New, an evening of old masterpieces by Handel, Crusell and Mozart performed on period instruments as they were once imagined, conceived and heard by the masters themselves. You will have a rare chance to experience Mozart's masterful clarinet quintet in its reconstructed version for basset clarinet, the instrument the was famously introduced to the world by Anton Stadler one of Mozart's dearest friends and muses as well as one of the world's earliest clarinet virtuosos. Our artistic director, Charles Neidich will be performing the quintet on a newly reconstructed replica of the original instrument built by Jochen Seggelke.
The concert will take place on February 23, 2018 at the Tenri Cultural institute of New York at 7:30PM.
