Grand Tasting Experience
Bordeaux introduced the unique Classification concept in 1855 under the direction of Napoleon III. Unlike the Burgundy classification of vineyards, this concept classified specific estates based on quality, price and worldwide prestige. These Classified Growths have demonstrated how the synthesis of terroir and the dedication of human intervention have safeguarded quality for generations. At this Grand Tasting, we will taste a wide range of Classified Growth wines from the Medoc, Graves and St Emilion classification systems. We will discuss the creation of these systems, review the Blue Chip and Growth Stock estates, as well as explore purchasing options for near term enjoyment and long-term cellaring.
