PRINCE GEORGE: Young Agrarians Rockstar Farmer Workshop with Ben Hartman
Join us for a workshop with the legendary Ben Hartman, author of The Lean Farm, on preventing burnout and increasing farm profits with less waste and work. Ben has inspired thousands to increase efficiency on their farms, and now he's coming to BC to share his knowledge! No matter where you are at in your farming journey or what type of farm you operate, these "lean" principles can help you streamline and maximize your time.

Workshop Title: Using the Lean System to Earn a Comfortable Living on a Farm
Description: In this workshop, Ben Hartman, author of The Lean Farm and The Lean Farm Guide to Growing Vegetables, will explain powerful concepts from the Japanese lean system that increase profits with less waste and work. Lean principles are universal, and the workshop will cover practical techniques that farmers of any size and type can take home and immediately employ. Ben will provide examples of lean at work on his Indiana vegetable farm, Clay Bottom Farm, as well as on other farms.
Topics covered include: Organizing workspaces with 5S Genchi gembutsu (close observation) to precisely identify value The 7 types of farm muda (waste) Kaizen (continuous improvement) on a farm How to set prices with lean The lean system and worker management Lean business management
