The Pillowman
The House of Ithaqua presents Martin McDonagh's "The Pillowman" at Cornell's Risley Theatre. In this gripping tale about storytelling and the bonds of fraternal love, a writer is interrogated over the grisly content of his short stories. The problem? Somebody's been carrying them out in real life.
As Katurian (Abel Bradshaw) fights for his own life and those of his stories against the wiles of two inscrutable police detectives (Jack Sherman and Mike Chen) he finds that his brother Michal (Daniel Kiely) is also close at hand. As the play ramps up to its chilling conclusion, explosive secrets come to light that will haunt even the hardest heart.
HOI founder Christoper Teitelbaum directs the all star cast which will also include Adara Alston, Benjamin Stevens and Marcella Rudmin. Stage management by Ayla Cline. Lighting design by Lea Davis.
Audiences should be warned that The Pillowman includes adult language, disturbing content, simulated gun use and violence, including violence against children.
The Pillowman will be performed at 7 PM 3/14-3/16 and 3/21 - 3/23, with a 2 PM matinee on 3/17. Tickets will be available for $20 General admission and $10 Student/Senior on this site and at the door. Risley Theatre is located on Cornell's North Campus.
