Misled Torpedo A WORKSHOP BRUNCH EXPLORING THE LEGACY OF HEDY LAMARR
Few people know that the Hollywood star and beauty, Hedy Lamarr, the Angelina Jolie of her day, was also an avid inventor and the person behind the advances in communication technology in the 1940s that led to todays Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth.
As part of the series of Hedy Lamarr events, this workshop explores how traditional attitudes on what was expected of women means that, even today, we know little of her off-screen achievements, and asks how much has changed for women in the last 70 years.
This workshop accompanies an exhibition and screenings of her films.
