SUMMARY From the director of the electrifying documentary, THE ANCESTRAL SIN (NYSJFF 2018), comes a controversial new film about immigrant children from North Africa who are placed in vocational schools in periphery towns in Israel. While the systematic policy was meant to keep newcomers from Asia and Africa at the bottom of the social strata, the second generation created a grassroots movement for social and economic justice, ultimately rejecting exclusion and neglect.

DIRECTORS' BIO David Deri David Deri was born on June 24, 1975 in Yeruham, Israel. He is a director and writer, known for The Ancestral Sin (2017), Lost with Tzufit Grant (2011) and No Longer Achmed (2007).
Ruth Yuval Ruth Yuval is an accomplished documentary filmmaker (The Ancestral Sin, The Silver Platter, A City of Broken Dreams and others) and one of the leading editors in the Israeli press. She was of Yedioth Aharanots 7 Days Magazine, EIC of Channel 2s weekly Magazine, EIC of Channel 10s weekly news magazine and Co-Executive Editor of Maariv Daily Newspaper.
Doron Galezer Doron Galezer is one of the leading figures in Israeli media over the past three decades. Galezer was editor in chief of several newspapers and weekly magazines, Chief Executive Editor of current affairs and investigations TV program Uvda and Co-Executive Editor of the daily newspaper Maariv.
