The ongoing investigation by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller, III is the most consequential legal and political proceeding since Watergate. Mueller is charged with investigating Russian attempts to influence the 2016 presidential election and the possible involvement of members of the Trump campaign. For nearly two years there has been a nonstop stream of indictments, guilty pleas, and breaking news, as the investigation has moved closer and closer to president Trumps inner circle and people like Paul Manafort, Michael Cohen, and Roger Stone have become household names.
