2019 Collage Composers Colloquium
Join Collage New Music on March 31, 2019, for an event-filled day that begins with a composition workshop, and concludes with the ensembles evening concert. The day provides opportunities for young composers to meet and share ideas with each other, and benefit from observations of their own music by guest composers Richard Festinger and Paul Brust, who will also offer insights into their own musical processes. Richard Festinger, one of Americas most distinguished composers, has been performed by most of the east and west coast new music ensembles, including Collage, and is featured on the evenings program. Since 1990, Richard has been Professor of Music at San Francisco State University. Paul Brust, whose music has also been performed by Collage, is on the faculty of the Longy School.
For a chance to have your music discussed during the workshop by these esteemed composers, simply submit your score or scores, along with recorded performance(s). From the applications, several composers works will be chosen for review during in the CCC. All applicants, in addition to having their work considered for inclusion in the workshop, will receive admission to the CCC, pizza dinner, a Collage mug, and a ticket for the evenings concert. Entries must be submitted by February 22, 2019, to be considered for the masterclass, and those chosen for discussion will be notified by February 28. All interested composers who apply are encouraged to attend the days events!
