LADY ZEN No Ordinary Love Featuring songs from Sade, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday and Aretha Franklin as well as original compositions. Lady Zen presents the first run production of her one-woman show, No Ordinary Love which combines music, original beats and autobiographical stories of a life that began as an orphan in Brazil to life as an entertainment artist at age 7. Lady Zens career began as a southern gospel singer who rose to regional fame all the way to a Fulbright opera student. Rejected from her family for being gay, Lady Zen shares her life as a jazz musician and young songwriter. Her passion for LGBTQ community activism led her to become one of seven organizers for the Maine Gay Marriage campaign with Equality in 2012. As a published author, she recently released a new anthology of feminist prose and poetry. Come hear how all these elements combined to create the entertainment artist, poet, and author, Lady Zen. All these women are the mother of my voice shaping the mystery, the shows, the writing and the talent of Lady Zen. Lady Zen
