The Orange Girls present Scorched
First staged in Canada in 2007, Scorched follows two siblings whose mothers dying wish sends them on a mission to seek out the truth of her life and the origins of their own birth. The quest takes them to the war-torn deserts of their mothers youth and forces them to come to terms with who they really are. Directed by Tom Martin, Scorched features a much-lauded cast including Kevin Beyer, Nancy Lewis (Kevin Kline winner), Joel Lewis (Kevin Kline nominee), Magan Wiles* (multiple Kevin Kline nominee), Bruce Longworth*, Robert A. Mitchell (Kevin Kline nominee) and the three Orange Girls co-founders Brooke Edwards (Kevin Kline Award), Michelle Hand (Kevin Kline Award) and Meghan Maguire (Kevin Kline nominee). *Denotes a Member of the Actors Equity Association.
The production is also a part of the 2008 St. Louis Political Theater Festival, a collaboration between local professional theater companies to increase awareness of the power the theater has to address the issues of our time.
