Amplify Her Screening

We're stoked to offer this special screening of the locally produced film AMPLIFY HER, showcasing the rise of women in electronic music. Featuring AppleCat, WALA, CloZee, Lux Moderna, A Hundred Drums, Blondtron, and Kytami.

Co-director Ian MacKenzie will be in attendance to introduce the film and facilitate a discussion afterward. After the screening, we'll dance to the music of DJ CACADORA.

ABOUT THE FILM

This visually dynamic film weaves animated motion comics created by the characters to offer intimate access into the colourful worlds of emerging female artists. Rather than ask the expected: why arent there more women in this male dominated scene?, we wonder: what is unique about feminine expression and how might we all benefit when it flourishes?

Caçadora resonates with warm, earthy Bass.
Her musical tastes draw from roots vibes originated in reggae, dub, and latin rhythms woven into electronic bass beats. Though her genres can be eclectic, ranging from liquid drum and bass, halftime, classy RnB/trap/hip hop to reggae and dancehall, her sound is distinct. Whatever the genre or tempo she keeps it smooth and spicy.
