PRESENTATION: SeaTac Airport North Satellite Modernization and Expansion - Project Update and Lessons Learned

PRESENTERS:
Ken Warren - is a Capital Program Leader for the Port of Seattle, Sea-Tac Airport.  He manages the NorthSTAR program, North Satellite Modernization project at Sea-Tac Airport, a $658M renovation and expansion of a 1970 satellite airside terminal satellite facility.  The project is a partnership with Alaska Airlines that set initiatives to increase the customer experience, leverage technology, and expand the satellite from 12 to 20 aircraft contact gates.  Ken has been in project management for the airport for the last 6 years, completing airport gate utility and energy conservation projects.  He previously was the owners representative for the SeaTac Airport for the mechanical infrastructure systems within the building, including HVAC, gate utilities, water, waste, fire, and other systems.  Prior to joining the Port in 2004, Ken was a mechanical design consultant.  Kens has been involved in design and construction projects from many roles, including master planning, designer, project manager, construction inspector, estimator, owner, and code authority.  Ken is particularly proud of his varied role on the Preconditioned Air Project where he was presented a theoretical problem at the airport, completed a Life Cycle Analysis, sponsored the project, aided the design consultant in developing the project scope and design, acted as the main customer and owners representative for the project delivery including construction.
