PRESENTATION: SeaTac Airport North Satellite Modernization and Expansion - Project Update and Lessons Learned
PRESENTERS: Ken Warren - is a Capital Program Leader for the Port of Seattle, Sea-Tac Airport. He manages the NorthSTAR program, North Satellite Modernization project at Sea-Tac Airport, a $658M renovation and expansion of a 1970 satellite airside terminal satellite facility. The project is a partnership with Alaska Airlines that set initiatives to increase the customer experience, leverage technology, and expand the satellite from 12 to 20 aircraft contact gates. Ken has been in project management for the airport for the last 6 years, completing airport gate utility and energy conservation projects. He previously was the owners representative for the SeaTac Airport for the mechanical infrastructure systems within the building, including HVAC, gate utilities, water, waste, fire, and other systems. Prior to joining the Port in 2004, Ken was a mechanical design consultant. Kens has been involved in design and construction projects from many roles, including master planning, designer, project manager, construction inspector, estimator, owner, and code authority. Ken is particularly proud of his varied role on the Preconditioned Air Project where he was presented a theoretical problem at the airport, completed a Life Cycle Analysis, sponsored the project, aided the design consultant in developing the project scope and design, acted as the main customer and owners representative for the project delivery including construction.
Mark Grotefend - Mark is a Program Controls Manager with Jacobs Engineering and currently supports the Port of Seattle, Sea-Tac Airports North Satellite Modernization project. He has over 30 years experience in various industries and has served as AACE Seattle Section President, Region 6 Director, VP of Regions and AACE President 2009-2010. Mark is a Certified Cost Professional, Earned Value Professional and hold Fellow status with AACE.

TIME: Please note that our meeting times have moved up by half hour as requested by several of our members. 5:00pm - Social Hour 6:00pm - Dinner 6:45pm - Program
COST: The member price for this event is $32.00 if you register before 12:00 Noon on the Friday immediately preceding the meeting; late registration is $37.00. Non-members price is $39.00 before 12:00 Noon on the Friday immediately preceding the meeting, and $45.00 thereafter.
Please note that registration will be closed Friday February 8th, at 4:00 pm.
A very limited of first come first served meals will be available at the door.
MENU: Chili and Chocolate Rubbed Pork Loin Medallions, BBQ Citrus Salmon, and Vegetarian (requires one week advance notice).

In addition, if you attend without an RSVP there is a possibility that your meal options will be limited from those listed above. AACE Seattle Section normally meets the 2nd Thursday of each month (with this month being the exception) from September through June (excluding December). Each meeting with a technical presentation qualifies for .25 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) towards your CCP/CEP/CFCC/DRMP/EVP/PSP recertification requirements.
