Hidden Muses of New York Sculpture, A Walking Tour with Allison C. Meier
There are only five statues of historic women in all of New York City. Yet in the faces of goddesses, angels, and allegorical figures are real women who posed for this art. While many of their features are ubiquitous, their names are obscure. This tour will recover their overlooked stories behind some of the city's most iconic sculptures.

Allison C. Meier is a Brooklyn-based writer and researcher focused on art, architecture, and history. Previously, she was a staff writer at Hyperallergic, and the senior editor at Atlas Obscura. She is a licensed NYC sightseeing guide who regularly leads tours in NYC cemeteries.
