DisOrient 2019 Opening Night Film - For Izzy- and Opening Night Reception
For Izzy (2018) 106 minutes USA English, Cantonese Directed by Alex Chu
Dede, a photojournalist and recovering addict, moves in next door to Laura, a young woman with autism. As the pair form an unlikely friendship, Dede assembles a documentary, using animation and found footage to tell a story of getting sober, of family and friendship, and of love and forgiveness.

Ticket stub also provides admission to the 8:30 pm Opening Night Reception at Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art with sweet and savory bites and live performance by Julian Saporiti of No No Boy. Reception runs from 8:30pm-11:30pm with multi-media musical performance by No No Boy Project and introduction to some of the filmmakers who will be screening their films at DisOrient 2019.
