CORNINGWORKS: With A Shadow Of . . .
Corning explores liminal space. There is no narrative. It is the moment before sleep, the moment before waking. The space in between. That intangible place beyond sense and before narrative. A dreamscape. Working with Corning's long time collaborator, lighting designer Iain Court, alternative landscapes are created; What is, and isn't seen. What is and isn't revealed. Much like dreams themselves, where for a moment they feel real, complete, logical, and then, seemingly without reason, dissolve into shadows of uncertainty and the surreal.
Corning's poignant choreographic style, brought to life by the talents of this particular quartet of strong personalities, each who bring a very individual style and sensibility to the stage, promises a unique sensory experience, an evening wherein you'll be suspended between shadow and light, grounded and floating, imbibing an indelibly surreal landscape of movement, light, sound, and meaning.
