NWPB Presents: Suzanne Bona in Concert with James Reid
Suzanne Bona of "Sunday Baroque" performs on flute with James Reid, guitar professor at the University of Idaho, in a compelling and varied program that spans countries, cultures and eras.
Suzanne Bona is the host and executive producer of "Sunday Baroque", a syndicated weekly radio show of Baroque and early music. "Sunday Baroque" is currently heard by more than a quarter million listeners every week on more than 200 public radio stations, including Northwest Public Broadcasting on Sundays from 10AM to Noon.
Suzanne is a classically trained flutist with a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Connecticut. She especially enjoys collaborating with some of her musically talented public radio colleagues.
James Reid, a professor of guitar and music history at the University of Idaho, has made hundreds of appearances throughout the United States and Canada, playing in concerts for guitar societies, colleges, universities and arts councils. He is the founder of the Northwest Guitar Festival and the director of the guitar program at the U of I.
Reid's music has aired on many public radio and television broadcasts, including NWPB. He has released seven solo recordings, and regularly performs standards of the guitar repertoire, including works by Mertz, Giuliani and Sor.
